As a Fitness Manager at Club Fitness you are responsible for delivering our company core values of clean, functional, and friendly. You are responsible for making sure the Personal Training team is providing our members with the best fitness experience possible through hiring, ongoing training and developing, and effective coaching and counseling. It is also important that you are providing support and the necessary resources to your Personal Trainers, you must be able to adapt quickly to changes in an ever-evolving industry, driving production and results daily, and working closely with your sales team to ensure proper set-up of new members on their fitness journey.



  • Responsible for the meeting the club goals in sales, fitness services, and member retention.
  • Responsible for achieving personal and club KPI targets (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Work directly with the sales team to set up First Workouts with new members and guests.
  • Support, communicate, and teach the concept and benefits of all Personal Training Services within the club to staff and members (Jump Starts, first workouts, Personal Training, Upgrades, GX, and Team Training)
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, develop, coach, and counsel Personal Training team- responsible for completing paperwork with HR in a timely manner.
  • Support and encourage all training and development initiatives offered by the education team.
  • Ability to work in club atmosphere; move about club floors, administer necessary paperwork, and communicate with the clients and members and staff.
  • Team oriented mindset- working well with all departments within the gym, including sales, fitness, maintenance, and operations.
  • Regularly conduct gym walk through's to ensure equipment is operational and functional- place work orders and notify club GM/OM if something if broken or damaged.
  • Subject matter expert for fitness within the club. Regularly required to demonstrate or explain proper physical fitness activities, techniques, and procedures.
  • Effectively communicates and upholds company standards- clean, functional, and friendly.
  • Leads by example and sets the standard of organization, punctuality, dress code, professionalism, and all that is listed in the Personal Trainer Policy and Expectations.
  • Meet with club management team daily to assess previous day wins/losses, projections for the day, and focus points moving forward.
  • Plan and lead fitness team meetings weekly to communicate company information, discuss time-sensitive material and promotions, club-specific stats, and weekly educational focuses for development.
  • Effective and timely communication to down-line.
  • Attend any Fitness Manager meetings and/or conference calls as scheduled.
  • Follows the chain-of-command within the club to ensure timely responses.
  • Quickly notifies supervisors of ongoing issues in club or with staff and/or members.
  • Ensure a safe and effective working environment. Keep desk, work area, workout floor neat and always organized.
  • Offer support, coaching, and guidance to team members.
  • Audit sales agreements, track invoices, monthly potential tracking and goal-setting, track down past-due or declined balances if necessary.
  • Assist with teaching PT developments as needed from the Director of Fitness.
  • Coordinate and adjust PT daily schedule to ensure coverage during club hours. Hire PTs accordingly based on schedule needs.
  • Audit team certifications monthly to ensure they stay current and communicate upcoming training's.
  • Must be available for Fitness Manager duties and responsibilities during your scheduled hours.
  • Keep Personal Training certifications current and up to date further certifications, education, and experience may be needed to advance training levels.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 1-2 years Personal Training/Fitness Management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Excercise Science OR National Personal Training Certification (nationally recognized or accredited)
  • Previous Personal Training and/or Fitness Management experience
  • College degree in fitness related field is preferred but not required.
  • Current Personal Training Certification from a nationally recognized organization.
  • Current CPR & AED certifications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, and communication skills. Able to generate, maintain, and demonstrate an engaging, friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
  • Possess a strong member service focus. Responds professionally to requests and inquiries from team members, management, clients, and members.
  • Possess a passion for fitness and knowledge of the fitness industry.
  • General computer knowledge (email, Word, Excel, and sales platforms, ect.)
  • Ability to travel to local workshops, meetings, and developments.
  • This position has varied hours based on the needs of the industry, the club, and the members- may require weekend hours and special events.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply

Physical Requirements

Must be able to effectively demonstrate recommended exercises and may be required to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. - physical activity may include sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, pulling and extensively reaching at heights above floor level required.
