The Opportunity
If you've ever considered relocating to the glorious Sunshine Coast, UniSC is offering to help support that move for the right candidate.
Under the broad direction of the Director of Facilities Management, you will lead sport related stakeholder and relationship management and business development in sporting endeavours including developing, promoting and facilitating partnerships and events with sporting bodies, government, community and industry partners.
You will supervise a team of professional staff who work across the operational functions of UniSC
Sport & Fitness, across multiple campuses including events, sport delivery, operations, health and fitness, administration and finance.
Additionally, you will also be responsible for managing financial forecasting, workforce planning and budgets for the UniSC Sport and Fitness work area, and creating plans to develop our facilities with an eye on the 2032 Olympic Games
You will
- manage and oversee business management and administration including procurement, asset management, contract management, workplace health and safety, employment of staff, and business development;
- ensure the effective and efficient delivery of communications and engagement support such as event management, marketing, and community liaison activities;
- manage and lead stakeholder engagement with a focus on key internal stakeholder clients, such as High Performance Sport, and teaching academics, as well as the development of key local, state, national and international strategic partnerships across all levels of government and industry;
- review facility usage and participation levels, develop programs and plans to develop facilities for future opportunities and to maximise utilisation levels and grow revenues; and
- identify professional development needs and develop appropriate professional development opportunities for supervisors and team members.

About you
You will be an experienced leader with an innovative and future-focussed mind-set. You will possess high level interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to negotiate and influence views and perspectives as well as to proactively resolve conflict. You pride yourself on your systematic and innovative approach to solving complex problems. Additionally, you have the capability to establish, maintain and foster collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships with a range of stakeholders including the capacity to secure and develop commercial partnerships.
You will possess:
- completion of a relevant postgraduate qualifications and extensive management and leadership experience in a sport and fitness environment;
- business acumen and strategic management expertise applied in a sport and fitness setting;
- experience in leading and managing an integrated, multi-disciplinary team, including developing and implementing effective and efficient systems and processes, including workplace health and safety systems;
- experience in the development of facility development plans and associated business development plans in a sport and fitness environment;
- financial management expertise, including the ability to analyse data and financial reports, manage budgets and present reliable and accurate information to inform decision-making;
- capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and environments, including the capacity to develop effective response plans to achieve financial and operational objectives and implement appropriate risk management strategies; and
- experience in the supervision and management of staff, including experience resolving a diverse range of human resources issues.
