We are seeking inspirational and experienced Swim Manager to build an excellent reputation and programme of swim activities for the local community. Your main duties will be to drive aquatic activities to meet all set budgets and exceed commercial success by developing a comprehensive pool programme, including Learn to Swim, School and Club programmes and training staff to Freedom Leisure’s high standards.

The role will include some evening and weekend working, with scope to develop skills and qualifications that could provide opportunities to move further within the business.

The people we are looking for need to be passionate about swimming, have a drive to lead commercial success, a natural ability to promote activities, as well as have the ability to manage a number of priorities at the same time and be able to build, lead and motivate staff.

In addition to this, you will also need to demonstrate the following in your application:

  • Previous experience of teaching swimming
  • Skills to establish key relationships quickly
  • Good commercial awareness and experience of assisting the delivery of targets and income performance
  • Awareness of industry developments and trends
  • Problem solving, project management, customer service and leadership skills.

The current portfolio of facilities in the South Somerset Area includes Chard Leisure Centre, Goldenstones Leisure Centre, Westlands Sport & Fitness Centre & Wincanton Sports Centre.

Hours: 37 hours a week - Monday to Sunday (Rota basis)

  • To design, maintain, monitor and report back on a financially viable swimming lesson programme that meets the needs of the centre customers, schools, and pre-schoolers.
  • To ensure the smooth administrative running of the swim school.
  • To organise and communicate the swimming teacher rota in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all lessons are covered by authorised staff.
  • To organise the work carried out by swimming teachers
  • To assist in the recruitment of the swimming teachers.
  • Level 1 Teaching Aquatics
